【Hamuya News 2026/09/17】Tainan Station is about to go underground!!

Hello, everyone! It’s Takky here!

Starting in September, we’ve expanded to a team of three, and I’ll be joining the team to write the “Hamuya News”! This is my very first issue—a real milestone.

Today’s Announcement

Tainan Station is currently undergoing major construction as part of its move underground. The new station building was unveiled the other day, and on October 18, 2026, the first phase of the underground project will finally open to traffic!

In this project, a section spanning approximately 8 kilometers will be moved underground. The “New Tainan Station,” which will serve as the centerpiece of this project, will begin operations with underground platforms. This is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion and bottlenecks caused by railroad crossings that have long divided the city center.

Furthermore, the historic “Old Tainan Station” building—beloved since the Japanese colonial era—will be preserved in its original form and will serve as a tourist landmark in the surrounding area.

In addition to this, Tainan has other projects in the works, such as the MRT construction plan, and its transportation infrastructure is set to undergo rapid changes. Be sure to come and see the sights of Tainan that can only be experienced right now.

The other day, I was enjoying a late-night stroll with no particular destination in mind, just letting my feet take me wherever they pleased.

Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a strange place where a light was flickering as if it were breathing.

“I wonder what’s in there?” Drawn to it as if by a magnet, I took one step after another toward it…

It was a bookstore.

“Where on earth is the entrance?”

As I looked around, I realized the wall itself was labeled “Bookstore.”

“Huh?????”

I stood frozen in front of the secret bookstore, as if time had stopped—
