Hello~ I’m Pingtan!

Recently, I’ve been struggling with ordering food and drinks. (・・;)
Today, I thought I ordered an Americano at a café, but a mango Americano was brought to my table instead. 🥭

After that, I went to a rice porridge shop to get some lunch. 🥣 I had the same problem there.
I didn’t know how to pronounce the Chinese name of the “assorted porridge” I wanted to order…

I stubbornly kept pointing at the menu, and the shopkeeper kindly lent me a back scratcher
so, I could point at the menu with it and place my order. Haha.

I thought, “People here are really warm and kind.”
I’m constantly reminded of how much more I need to study, but I’ll keep doing my best! ò᎑ó

October in Taiwan means Double Tenth National Day!
As the dry season sets in, the weather is gradually becoming much more pleasant.

In this post, I’ll be sharing some exciting events happening in Tainan this October! ☺

1. 2026 Tainan Arts Festival(台南藝術祭)

📅10/2～11/22
📍Various cultural venues and historic sites across Tainan City

Under the theme ‘suí-ooh’ (媠喔), over 50 diverse performances—including theater, dance, art installations, and city walks—will take place across the city at spots like 321 Art Village and the West Market!

★ What is ‘suí-ooh’?
It’s a Taiwanese phrase meaning ‘Awesome!’ or ‘Fantastic!’ used to complement something great ^_ .̫ _^➰🌟❕

２. 2026 Hutoupi Water & Greenery Series:
Double Tenth National Day Hike
（2026虎頭埤水與綠系列活動；国慶健行）

📅October 10, 2026 (Double Tenth National Day)
📍 Hutoupi Scenic Area & Xinhua Forest Pass

This event, themed around water and greenery, takes place at Hutoupi—Taiwan’s oldest reservoir lake! 💧🌿

You can fully immerse yourself in nature with a 7 km forest hike, the “Forest Breath” market, camping, open-water swimming, and an evening outdoor movie night under the stars.

The starry movie night lets you enjoy a film on an open lawn, and best of all, no advance reservation is required! (>ᴗ<)⭐️ Watching a movie while feeling the gentle autumn breeze sounds absolutely lovely, doesn’t it? 🌆🎞️🍂

⚠️ Just keep in mind that some activities do require advance reservations!

3.LONG FLOW TAINAN ‘Lóng Hō-lo̍k’ Vol. 4:
2026 Tainan Hot Air Balloon Party
（ LONG FLOW TAINAN 攏Hô樂4. 2026臺南熱氣球派對）

📅10月17日〜10月18日（国慶連休直後の週末）
📍臺南市政府永華市政中心旁西側廣場・西拉雅廣場

・🪂 Hot Air Balloon Rides:
Held twice a day (morning and afternoon), featuring 3 balloons with about 120 slots per session—that’s 480 people total over two days!
Tickets are first-come, first-served on-site for NT$500 per person 💰️

・Light & Drone Show:
Happening on the night of October 17th! Watch the hot air balloons light up as a mesmerizing drone show fills the night sky ✨️

・Fun Activities:
Special market, food stalls, bouncy houses for kids, game booths, street performances, and more!

★ Free Shuttle Bus:
A free shuttle bus will run between Tainan Bus Station (台南轉運站) and the venue at Nandao Road (南島路).
Operating Time: October 17, 2026, 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

What a rare chance to actually ride a hot air balloon! 🙀
It’s super hard to come by, so definitely check it out if you can♪
