【Hamuya News 2026/04/30】A Music Festival Is Coming to Tainan This Week!

Hello everyone! I’m Hamaty from the staff 👋
For those of you in Japan, how are you planning to spend your Golden Week holidays? Some of you might be taking a few extra days off during the weekdays to turn it into a longer vacation ☺️
In Taiwan, we don’t have as long of a holiday as Japan, but since May 1st is a public holiday, we get a three-day weekend—so people here are pretty excited too!
And speaking of this weekend, it looks like there’s going to be an event happening near Hamuya as well!
Today’s News
A music festival will be held on Huanhe Street this weekend, from May 1st to 2nd!
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Grand Canal, and various events are being held to celebrate it—this festival is one of them ✨
Check out the lineup and artist details here 🎵
Find more information about access and directions here 🎶
It looks like the festival will be held along the riverside in front of Hèlè Plaza, with a stage set up by the water!
The event runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on both days.
If you’re heading there from Hamuya, taking Bus No. 77 from Minzu Road to Hèlè Plaza is probably the easiest way 🚌
And the best part—it’s completely free to enter!!
If you’re a music lover visiting Tainan during Golden Week, why not stop by and check it out?
Today’s Weather in Tainan
Today’s forecast:
High: 28°C / Low: 19°C
Chance of rain: 20%
It rained heavily this morning, so it’s nice and cool tonight!
This kind of weather really makes me crave hot pot 😋
Today’s Photo

It was my first time having a pineapple cut for me at a supermarket!
It weighed about 3 jin (around 1.8 kg) and cost only 72 TWD (about 360 yen), which is incredibly cheap compared to Japan 😲
As we head into summer, I’ve heard that all kinds of fruits like mangoes, lychees, and milk pineapples will start appearing more and more. I’m not a huge fan of the heat (🙄), but I’m really excited about all the delicious fruit 😆
That’s all for today! Stay safe and take care!
